Bengbu — Nanjing (7th day of the "green trip" on Sunday, May 12, 2024)

The next morning, we were received by the Party Secretary of Bengbu, Huang Xiaowu, like high-ranking
state guests, for breakfast at the hotel and informed about the city's development.

	With several black escort limousines in front of and    behind the bus, we were taken to the showcase project    of ecological river restoration.

	Party Secretary Huang Xiaowu and the engineers report that the Longzi River, which divides the city into   two parts, was completely polluted, used as an illegal dumping ground by farmers at night, and had become eutrophic.   The river was cleaned up over a length of 26 km and a width of up to 500 meters within two years.

This is what it used to look like.
We are now shown Dragon Mountain, a kind of Disneyland with holiday homes, and on the way there we are treated to a dragon dance performance.

We will be visiting the biochemical company BBCA Group Anhui at 11 a.m.

The company produces plastics, textiles, and other used goods not from petroleum, but from waste and plant residues. An ecologically sound alternative?

Then we'll go to lunch.
